The first time Deepa did yoga was at the age of 13, when her uncle took her to a yoga class in India as a way to help with her migraines. But what started off as a mere introduction to a new practice soon evolved into a lifelong journey. Today, Deepa wants her students to walk away from her classes with the same renewed sense of hope, peace, connection and acceptance that she felt on her first day.
Deepa is a practicing attorney and aspiring writer. She completed her 200-hour teacher training at Cambio Yoga in Colorado Springs and is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. After years of struggling with mental health challenges, she finally found solace in yoga and meditation. Today, she hopes to provide her students with a haven to take shelter during life’s most difficult storms. Deepa believes that yoga is a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual practice that allows us to connect to each other, to nature, to the divine, and to our most true, authentic selves. Deepa describes yoga as light, love, joy and transcendence – an oasis in a vast desert that she has been traveling her whole life.
When she is not practicing yoga, Deepa is traveling the world in search of the best chai latte. She also loves to read, paint, and hike.
